Usher dedicates a heartfelt tribute to his Grandma Tina after she passed away at the age of 87
Usher's grandmother has passed away at the age of 87.
The singer, 44, dedicated a heartfelt tribute on Instagram on Monday and shared photos and a video with his grandmother, Ernestine Carter, who died on December 24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In a lengthy post, the Grammy Award–winning artist wrote, 'I love [you] more' and said that was something she often used to say to him.

'It's taken me a few days to come to grips with the fact that my Grandma Tina is no longer with me,' the My Boo singer wrote. 'I'm praying for clarity and strength for all whom relied on her.'

The Burn singer shared that they were just laughing together days ago: 'We were just laughing days ago... I really thought we had more time.'
'When I was lost, she was always there when I called on her, no matter the hour or how long it took,' he wrote.

'When I needed the perfect Bible verse to suit the reality of what I was facing at the time...she provided it.'
In his post, the father-of-four wrote: 'Her last words to me were, "There's a time for everything son... There's a time to laugh, a time to cry... There's a time to live and a time to die.'
'I need you right now more than ever Grandma. Just to hear you one more time. Missing you. I celebrate you and your life!!'
He included a message that had been shared with him: '"Keep in mind that it's only sad [because] we miss them and that's us being selfish and rightfully so but it's really a congratulatory celebration because they're at the ultimate place forever!" I believe that... She will be missed very much.'

She was preceded in death by her husband Usher Raymond Jr. and her son Usher Raymond III.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including Usher and his three sons — Usher Raymond V, 15; Naviyd, 14; and Sire, one — and his daughter Sovereign, two.
Recently, Usher concluded his Las Vegas residency in October.
He will be continuing his My Way performances from February 24 to July 15.
