Cat and Nat reveal truth about childbirth in honest video
Two mothers have revealed what truly happens after childbirth in a hilarious—and amazingly honest—video.
Catherine Belknap and Natalie Telfer, known online as Cat and Nat, recently shared a video of themselves in a car, detailing how new mothers have to deal with hemorrhoids, heavy bleeding, and other body changes after bringing their little ones into the world.
The two Toronto mothers, who have seven children between them, are well-versed in what awaits parents having to take care of a new baby.

Hairdo: The Toronto mothers, who have seven children between them, started out by telling fellow parents to put their hair up in a scrunchie and leave it that way for a very long time
'You take these classes, you see beautiful newborn pictures after lying on their mommy, but no one actually talks about you after you have that little baby on you,' Cat said in the opening of the skit. 'The love is there but oh, girl!'
'I thought that after you had the baby you were going to crack some bubbly and celebrate,' Nat added, 'because you have given birth and you are a mother.'
Her beliefs, however, were severely misguided.
The two moms told fellow parents to brace themselves for a drastic reduction of their personal time, which might impact their personal grooming habits.
'What you want to do is get some good, old-school scrunchies that were left in the eighties, bust them back out again,' Cat said. 'Put this in at the hospital and it's never coming out. This is your new look. You might not even look in the mirror for a few years.'
'It's not about you,' Nat added.

Cat then took out an ice pack and explained the accessory will become necessary soon after childbirth.
'You think the ice pack might be for your head or to cool you down, uh uh, try again, it's for your coo,' she said. Without missing a beat, Nat added: 'Cause that thing is swollen and pulsing.'
'It is unrecognizable,' Cat said. 'It's like taking a pound of meat and tenderizing it.'

The mom then moved on to another post-childbirth hot topic: hemorrhoids.
'I'm not sure why they don't warn you about hemorrhoids,' Cat said before telling her viewers to procure 'Costco-sized Epson salts' in order to combat the painful condition.
Nat, however, pointed out that the remedy has an inconvenient. 'You have to sit in the bath for 30 minutes with these things,' she said. 'I've got a new baby, I can't sit in the—how am I going to...'
Cat also detailed how new mothers 'can barely sit down' after giving birth to their child, which is why they might want to carry a pillow with them.
'I was on this puppy for like a month,' she said. 'No one tells you about stitches in your vagina. There is a chance you're going to get stitches, so if there's someone in your life that just had a baby, be kind.'
The mother also described the internal toll that labor can take on someone, adding: 'When you sit down on the toilet, it feels like your uterus is going to fall out of your body.'
She did, however, end the video on a hopeful note, telling other parents: 'To all the people who are about to have a baby, don't you worry, we all get through it. The more prepared you are, the better you'll feel.'
